Bow hunting is part of the San Bushman culture. Ancient rock art depicts bow hunting scenes in the Kalahari from thousands of years ago. To add a little extra Namibia to your hunt, experience archery with the true masters and join the Bushmen of Sandveld. Bow hunting for all species can take place throughout the dry season from early May through to the end of October. An abundance of game animals, a choice of spot and stalk options, various ground blinds, and several tree stands, provide high shot opportunities. Typical shot ranges are from 25 to 30 yards from a blind.
Sandveld has a practice target range setup near the lodge to check that all your archery equipment is in working order and any sight adjustments can be made pre-hunt. We advise using fixed broadhead tips and discourage the use of expandable tips.
It is no problem to bring a bow to Namibia, it is legal to bow-hunt and no import permit is required.
